About Me

My photo
Folk & Jazz fan, specialising in vinyl restoration. Although I would prefer to only post albums that I have paid for, or those of close friends, I am open to suggestions and offers of rare Folk items that need tender care and restoration, provided the supplier has the right of ownership of the physical item. NOT JUST an MP3 COPY of it. To give you an idea, I am prepared to restore vinyl belonging to another person, IF I receive a decent quality scan of the front, back and any relevant information that comes with the LP, preferably at least 2400 by 2400 quality, (600DPI scans for back) along with the sound files in FLAC format as waves are a bit too large to transfer. Then I will check their suitability for restoration. I try to maintain the requirement for a decent set of scans for each item, where possible, as I feel the music is incomplete without it. Sometimes this is just not possible as a lot of my stock came from broadcasting organisations that had their own heavy card sleeves, with information relevant to their prime function, that of providing the disc-jockies with basic details to pass on to listeners. I do wonder what happened to all the original artwork?

*INFO* Requests for passwords on postings

When an item is listed here with a download "HERE" type link, the password for the .RAR file will be also included somewhere in the posting.

If the password is only available via an Email request to me  it means this item is in a special category, usually jazz, and I am interested in assessing the real interest in the posted item. This, I hope limits the casual "Download everything" type of blog reader from the count. If you require a password PLEASE leave a comment on the posting concerned, PLEASE mention the name of the album, or your comment may get missed. If you leave your email for a reply PLEASE obfuscate it like leaving spaces between letters, replace the "at" symbol with
"a t" and break up any obvious .name like  . c o m  or . n e t  this will make it less obvious to net scanners.

If you are worried your email address might be used in some form of scam, then don't request, even though I assure you that your details will remain personal to me only, and your message will be deleted once answered to avoid any miss-use by mail bombing bots that may infiltrate my gmail system.

If you do post a comment or a request on the item comment page, AGAIN PLEASE head your comment with the name of the LP or item so it may be located, comments posted months after the item post date, though allowed and visible, may not be easily found.
