.
I have recently been made aware that some of the newest LP restorations on here are being copied, re-coded and presented on another blog.
I have no objection to this in principal, provided the original source is suitably credited, what I DO object to is to find
the copies are inferior, recoded to 128k joint stereo and any credits to source and/or ripper have been removed from the MP3 tags.
A lot of work goes into these restorations to produce the best possible quality from the resource, why it has become necessary to present a lower quality version beats me.
If this blatant copying continues I shall in future present
only low quality, low bit rate versions on this blog, leaving the full 320k versions for personal friends only.
Look HERE for another blog, but BEWARE of the low quality.
I spoke with the owner of the blog that had copies of my work, he reported it was offered by a blog user so didn't check it's source, anyway there are no ill feelings, read our comments about the affair, the music is getting propagated even if in a slightly lower quality form than the original.

the whole Pirate who shares someone's else's content illegally, having a go at someone who shares that content illegally again is beyond me! Pure hypocritical! just saying as well, i personally did not download nor reup your content, we have many contributes at Paddy Punx, im sure he who added the content to us had downloaded from you, re-ripped (as 320 for vinyl rip is overkill, might as well ripped in .flac) and then re-hosted them (-password) for us! Anyway, no disrespect intended as it states in our blogclaimer (bottom of Paddy Punx) point me to the material that is "yours" and i will remove them from the blog, and have a work with the contributor to no longer "steal" from your blog! Love Paddy (a Pirate just like you) x
Love and respect your generous offerings, Gonzo. Doing this should be nothing but pleasure for you. So sorry it isn't always so.
@Paddy
Yes that was rather a tongue in cheek
comment, as I penned that response I thought almost exactly that!
I wanted the point made that reducing quality is unfair to the artist, and to the downloader, when a full quality version is already available. As for 320k being overkill, never!! a good vinyl on a serious player can produce a far wider frequency response and any normal CD, why even 320 MP3 is not really good enough to truly reproduce the full spectrum of a good vinyl. All the LP's ripped here are done at 24 bit and at 88.2k sampling, that way the full spectral content of the noises, clicks and scratches is available to the cleaning process, not some rounded off and pulse stretched, spectrally limited file. Only the final result for release is converted to 320k stereo and 44.1k to be compatible to anyone wanting to make CD's.
